Hello everyone,
First, I wanted to thank you all for your support of Sylvia. It is always so appreciated that you read and share the published pieces and that so many of you send in work during the submission windows.
To help us grow, there are a few changes coming in the new year that I wanted to update you on.
The first is that there will be three months with no new pieces next year: April, June, and July. This will give us more space to make sure everything is up to date and hopefully speed up our response time.
The second is that for the first time we are going to have a theme for one month of the year. The theme for February will be Menstruation and we invite your poems on this topic. Submissions are open now until December 9th. You can find all of the details here.
Finally, there will be two submission windows in 2023:
January 16th – February 3rd for all seasons
June 5th – June 19th submissions for Autumn, Winter and Spring
As always, members are welcome to submit up to two days in advance.
Supporting Sylvia
If you would like to help us pay writers for their work, there are a couple of ways you can support us.
The Etsy shop has printables to organise your literary submissions of plan your writing, with more on the way.
You can also become a member, supporting our ongoing work. You can now gift a subscription – this might be a perfect holiday gift for a literary friend!
As always, I would love to hear from you if you have feedback or something that you would like to see happen with Sylvia. I hope to be in touch soon with more exciting news.
Happy reading and writing,
Millie
